On Saturday, 23 August 2025, the dead body management team of the SRCS North Kordofan branch, which is responsible for safe and dignified burials, was struck by a drone attack in the Al-Andaraba area of North Kordofan State.
This incident resulted in injuries to several team members and the destruction of two vehicles, both of which were prominently marked with the Sudanese Red Crescent emblem.
The Sudanese Red Crescent Society expresses profound regret over this incident and urges the protection of humanitarian workers. We stress that volunteers, staff, and Society property must not be targeted during conflicts. As Sudan's leading humanitarian organisation, the Sudanese Red Crescent Society plays a crucial role in providing essential aid during both peacetime and wartime. Our mission is to support victims of natural disasters and man-made conflicts, ensuring safe and dignified burials while maintaining human dignity for all those in need.
